WHERE ARE THESE TARGETS MANUFACTURED?
Our Big Sky Real Archery Targets were conceived in Montana and are manufactured by Licensed Specialty Products (LSP Inc.) in Bradner, Ohio, USA; the home of the Real-Geese product line. LSP has nearly twenty years of high quality decoy making experience!
WILL THESE TARGETS STOP MY ARROWS?
No, they are designed for easy entry and arrow removal. They must be attached to and used in conjunction with your bag or block style arrow stop device.
DO THE TARGETS FADE IF LEFT OUTSIDE AND WILL I NEED TO BRING MY TARGET INSIDE?
Scroll down to see an actual decoy made with the same process printed with the same ink on the same material. It has been left outside facing the sun in all kinds of weather year round with virtually zero fade after SEVEN YEARS! No, you do not need to bring your target inside. It is impervious to weather.
CAN I USE BROADHEADS?
If you are using a broadhead arrow stopping device behind the image, it can be done, however it is not a recommended practice as it will require alignment to the puncture hole to pull your arrow out and it will tend to unnecessarily diminish the life of the target vital area.
CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT VITAL AREA FOR THE TARGET IMAGES?
Yes, a new vital area simply attaches over the original vital area using the furnished push-fit fasteners. With reasonable care, you should never need to replace the entire image.
WHAT TYPE OF MATERIAL ARE THE TARGETS MADE OUT OF?
The targets are made from an incredibly strong and rigid, 6mm thick, proprietary composite material that is pound for pound stronger than steel. We use our patented process with a specialized, textured cloth material to print on so that the sun can not make your target shine in bright light distorting the image; (this is the same great technology used on the Real-Geese Pro-Series decoys.) This system reflects sunlight much like the actual hair on a live animal does.
HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT MY TARGET TO LAST?
With reasonable care, your new target should last virtually indefinitely. Depending on how much you shoot, you will need to replace the vital area from time to time. Scroll down to see a prototype elk target with an actual counted 1400 shots without replacing the vital area.
WHAT IS 2-D/ 3-D ?
Typically lifelike archery animal targets are three dimensional and molded using various types of foam. Our targets are actually two dimensional silhouette images, but because they are photo realistic, actual life size, and die cut, they have a better realistic representation than any other animal archery target. We choose to refer to them as “2-D / 3-D” because they are two dimensional but have an exceptional overall appearance of being three dimensional.
WHAT ARROW STOP DEVICES CAN BE USED WITH THE TARGET STAND?
The target stand is manufactured using precision CNC tube bending machinery. It is made with 1” aluminized steel tubing (like the latest technology automotive exhaust tubing) with an .065” wall thickness. Go to Products/target stand to see a 190 pound athlete using it to do chin-ups. The stand will support virtually all bag and block style arrow stop devices that can fit between the uprights that have a 34” interior dimension.
ARE THEY GUARANTEED?
Absolutely! Your satisfaction as well as the materials and workmanship is guaranteed.
WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE “LIFE SIZE” ?
We feel that the most critical dimension on the animal target image is the actual depth of the body between the top of the shoulder and the brisket. The overall length of an antlered animal from the tip of the antlers to the tail when in a complete broadside position is not a good criteria. Each of our target animals has the legs cut off several inches above the feet so the overall height is not a good comparison as well. All three of these animals are in a turned position which shortens the overall body length compared to a left or right, front facing broadside position. The critical measurement is the body depth! Our Whitetail has a body depth of 17 3/4”, the Mule Deer is 19” and the Rocky Mtn. Elk measures 29”. These are true to life measurements for very large, mature specimens of each species.
